Not legal advice
This site is a legal research tool for searching and organizing U.S. court opinions. Nothing on it, including opinions, summaries, citation formats, and "overruled" or subsequent-history notices, is legal advice, and using the site does not create an attorney-client relationship with anyone. For advice on a specific matter, consult a lawyer licensed in the relevant jurisdiction.
Data may be incomplete, delayed, or wrong
- Opinions are compiled from court websites, the U.S. Government Publishing Office (GovInfo), and public legal datasets. Coverage may be incomplete, new opinions may arrive days late, and text conversion may contain errors.
- Negative-treatment, "overruled," "possibly overruled," and subsequent-history notices are generated automatically from the text of opinions. They are not an editorial citator and can miss or misread treatment.
- Citation counts, citing depth, and parentheticals are computed by software and may differ from other databases.
- Before relying on any authority, confirm its text and subsequent history against an official source or a professional citator.
Rights
U.S. court opinions are in the public domain. The site's software, design, compilation, summaries, and analysis belong to TaiLexi AI.
